Just wondering how long would the battery run one of these cooler boxes before running low. Battery less than a year old. Going camping in a couple of weeks and wondering if I would need an electrical supply to run the box when car is parked up?

    Bit more than a day.

    Might be way off.

    It's drawing 3.5Amps
100Ah battery supplies 100Amps for one hour or 3.5Amps for 28.5h

Haven't done this sort of calculation since college 25 years ago, but I think that's it.

It will flatten a car battery pretty quickly.
Better to bring a good coolbox and freeze some 5l bottles of water and use them as cooling.
    When they thaw drink them!

Thanks. Always get confused about these calculations. Big unknown for me is at what point will the battery no longer be able to start car! Think I will check whether I will have access to power point and if not will just go with cooler box and ice!

You need a good cooler box not just the cheapies that you get in Halfords and the like but a proper foam filled one. Polarcaddy sell very good quality ones that hold food extremely well, I have an 80l one that held milk and perishables for 10 days with 2 x 5litre frozen water containers.
