    Hi,
I was surprised by an email in which our Solicitor increase his fees from €6,500 to about €11k without warning. The work was dismissing a ward ship, an intestate estate & selling a house. I plan to ask for a reduction failing this I understand I can refer to Taxing Master and or make a complaint to the Law Society.
I was wondering at other people experience with making law society complaints where they happy with the outcome or a review by the taxing master?

Is it a waste of time to do both? If the taxing master agrees the fees or a smaller discount then I want will the Law Society agree with taxing master in general? Would you do both or if you were just do one which one?
Thanks for your anticipated help with this. I appreciate all feedback with this stress full matter

I went to the law society with a complaint about fees before. Basicly the day we were to receive keys to our new house, the fee went up. We had no choice but to pay. The law society investigated the matter, agreed it was above the agreed amount and we received a refund.
    Hope this helps.

The solicitor has agreed to reduce his fees to a figure we agreed.
