Managers Orders?

    HI,
    Just reading through some Managers Orders for some planning applications near me. What does the "Management Orders" actually mean? For example, if the Managers Orders for a new estates mentions that the following aspects of the LAP apply to this area (for example, there should be small playgrounds in developments of over 100 houses), does that mean the developer:
    * has to do it?
    * might do it?
    * or what?

    I notice they can do this but then not actually explicit state it in the conditions of grant. So wondering what does it mean.

    Under Section 151 of the Local Government Act 2001 a manager's order must accompany any grant of planning permission (amongst other items). It's what actually makes a planning permission legal.

    If a manager's order attached to a planning permission, signed under the above mentioned section, has as part of that order a direction to include items as part of that planning permission, this is the same as a planning condition and will usually be annexed to the conditions, however, this would be rare in the extreme, imo. As it would suggest the manager having to order the planners to include his wishes for an application, instead of directing an inclusion, which is standard practice. The manager's order is the final say on an application, at any rate, unless it is appealed or reviewed.

    You specifically mention "managment orders" which has no meaning under the Act, afaik.
