Is Homestead dead and buried? It used to be massive in Ireland and covered everything from pasta to notebooks and jams and bread etc but I haven't seen the brand in donkeys years, does anyone still see some of its products?

Apparently they still exist but I've not noticed any of their products for years. Perhaps the products are only sold in independent convenience stores these days.

They were suppliers to the small indepdent retailers in small shops around Ireland. These have either been killed off by the large multiples or else modernised or adapted into the likes of the Spars, Maces, Daybreak, Londis etc.

I got bought a homestead lighter from the local shop the other day, get them all the time but the logo has been modernised recently.
I'll see if I can find it and take a pic.

I bought my nieces Homestead Cola last week. The number of products they sell these days is probably less than 10. In the 1980s it was at least 50.

My first full time job was working for a wholesaler supplying Homestead stuff.

I bought a 2kg bag of homestead flour in my local Costcutter a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised to see the brand still existed!

There was also "SHOP LOCAL" with a red, white and blue logo. That must have disappeared in the early '00s.
