An unusual question, I know but an American friend who bought some duck fat has enquired about duck fat. I have no idea so maybe somebody else has:

    a) how long is duck fat safe to use once the jar is opened?

    b) how many times can it safely cycle between solid and liquid states?

Any other safety tips re cooking with duck fat?

Thanks in advance, if anybody has any feedback.

Mod: Unusual one! I think this would be better off in the Food forum and probably cause less food-poisoning overall than AH advice :P

It'll be closed for a short time as it's transferred until a Food mod can reopen it.

Food Mod: OP is looking for food safety advice. That's a no no here so I'm afraid this thread will stay locked.
