Hi, I have a field that was seeded last Tuesday night before rain came (west). Field wasn't rolled and is still not dry enough. Nor has it for 10:10:20.
It should be dry enough for manure tomorrow but I was advised not to roll as not done within 3 days. Would u roll or wait for grass/rape to sprout first? Thanks

No issue, I'd recommend you roll at the first opportunity

Get on your knees and look for germination. If they have started to sprout leave them be

I'd always roll as soon as possible after reseeding. As the lads said above do not roll if the seeds have germinated

Would the rain not have done the job?

Would there be a danger if the ground is wet, that a lot would stick to the roller, and just make a mess?

I'd be inclined to leave it, but I wouldn't do a whole pile of reseeding...

I'd worry more about the 10 10 20 than the rolling. As long as you've used plenty seed it'll be good.

On a related issue if a field was reseeded a few months ago but not rolled and theres now a small height of grass do l need to let in some cows etc to cut it down before rolling it again or can l roll over the grass, probably better to cut down....
