I was flown out to zurich by a company. After a month of skype interviews, it was great i spent 4/5 hrs on site before i flew back same day.

My first meeting was with the cfo it went great i felt. Great conversation he liked my ideas etc.

Next, met with head of sales and head of marketing, asked lots of questions; they showed me the platform they sell, how the products are sold, the structure of doing things. Their tips and tricks to convert leads to sales. Lots of questions asked really good vibe. They even gave me tips on finding accommodation in near by towns and what to expect to pay.

Next the CEO took me to lunch, he told me everyone liked/approved of me so far, told me they will put a relocation package for me. We discussed my ideas for the role, they have a particular product and when I told him another application for the api he exclaimed how great of an idea it was, we went through the motions on developing the idea. He asked if i was being courted else where I told him yes, uber and palantir. I told him Id much prefer to work there than the others.

He told me one other guy was due to come in the next day(Thursday) and it was between me and him( he was a local). They would get back to me with a decision by thursday evening friday morning.

I am still yet to hear anything . Should I wait till Monday to reach out? or reach out for an update at all?

I would wait until Monday mid morning and follow up with them. It's a horrible feeling when this is done to you.

Wait until Tuesday morning, then ring.

Obviously your competition has merits also & they're considering everything closely.

    Good luck.

I went for a job interview abroad one time, and was told it was between me and one other person. In my opinion, I was perfect for the job. I sensed during the interview that the guy was looking for something in response to his questions, and he wasn't getting it. The other thing I noticed was that they weren't really facing a big enough problem in my business area that they even needed to hire somebody. I never heard back from them, and checking their LinkedIn, I saw that they never filled the position. In hindsight they were just fishing to see how they could do what they needed to do, themselves, without hiring anybody. You'll know better than anyone else if this could be the case with this crowd, but it's worth bearing in mind to avoid disappointment.

I'd be waiting at least a week before getting onto them.

Ok, I currently have 2 other offers one in Dublin with a tech firm, and the other in london.

I have accepted both offers, unsure as to which one i want. I have been given a start date for the one in dublin for late august. And I'm scheduled to fly to the uk next week to meet the team.

I hate lying to these other companies, thats also why I'm pressing to hear back from switzerland as its my preference..

I would wait until they contact you. Contacting them weekens your hand and could jeopardise your chances. In the meantime, assume they will not contact you or that they will give the job to the other guy and continue to sell yourself elsewhere. Hope you get the job.

What should I do with those other companies?

Plus The hiring manager is on holidays for 2 weeks, I have her email and Skype, but my only other contact in the office is the CEO on Skype.

    I feel very uncomfortable sending the CEO;

    Hi XXXXX,

I really enjoyed meeting you last week and wanted to emphasize just how excited I am about this opportunity. Is there anything else I can forward along to make your hiring decision easier?

    Best,

    Thanos93

I can understand your dilemma. My own view is that an enormous economic depression will hit the entire western world in a matter of months and the EU may not survive the impact. If the EU were to break up, Brexit would no longer be the major concern. I would certainly be looking for the company with the most potential to weather an economic storm and not just what each is offering.

I lived in London in the nineties. I would not live there again. If you do go to London, be sure to watch every episode of "The real hussle" first.

I know you didn't mean it this way but the way you've phrased that, to me, sounds like an offer to send on a bribe!
To others it may not but even still, I wouldn't send that as it sounds a bit... clumsy? I don't have any alternative suggestions though sorry.

People are saying wait until Tuesday because you don't want to appear over-eager/desparate. The email you've drafted does sound a bit desperate. They know you have other offers, so if they want you, they'll be in touch.

If you do mail them, I'd be writing something more along the lines of "I really enjoyed meeting you last week and thanks for your time. However, as mentioned when we met, I am being sought by other organisations and have received two offers of employment. In fairness to those companies and as both would also involve relocation, I need to give them an answer soon and so would appreciate it if you could get back in touch in the next couple of days to let me know your decision."

Thats a good one thank you. Its very annoying, I really hate having to string other companies along !

I would plan like you don't have the job. Pick one of the others and move forward positively with that pick.

In a week (from the interview) follow up looking for an update stating that you have been offered a position else where and you have till the end of the week to decided.

Don't blow off the other jobs.

Don't act desperately as it reads so far

Just on the desperation thing - has anyone not offered someone a job because they seemed too eager for the role because I don't think the OP is desperate as they already have two offers in the bag?

    Yep.

    My old boss.

I organised for a lad to come in to do an interview for a minimum wage position. He had been out of work for a while. He was keen, well turned out and really wanted the job. Interview with boss went well.

Heard from another member of staff later that day "oh, the boss wouldn't hire him... he thought he was too desperate".

Lol anyone who would reject a candidate for being too eager is a total tool imo. sending 3/4 consecutive messages in 3/4 days is being a bit overeager . but one or two messages in a week is fine. especially considering the retort i received after they flew me over.

Anyway I found out its was Swiss national day yesterday and its normal for people to take a week off. I might wait till friday or next monday to reach out to them. my point of contact from the start is currently on holidays for 2 weeks otherwise id have an update.

I built an AI chatbot for the companies site in my spare time . Chatbots can generate better leads for the business much better than their current 'request demo' button.

Ill send the ceo and head of marketing the demo link and dazzle them :D . if i don't hear back . Ill just stick with one of the other roles and keep applying to other roles in switzerland.
