    Just wondering if someone could recommend me a box with two specs;

    1. Saorview and UK freeview tuner in one combo. High end and low end prices.

    2. Saorview, UK freeview and IPTV capabilities. High end and low end prices.

    3. All three and more. High end and low end prices.

I am getting a bit dizzy looking around the interwebs!

Why is this in "Satellite"? Saorview and Freeview are both terrestrial services.
There are no Saorview/Freeview combined boxes, but any Saorview box will receive Freeview SD, and any Freeview HD box will receive Saorview provided you are within range of both services.

I guess I thought the OP meant FTA Sat rather than Freeview, because a 'combo' was mentioned.

Cause I have a 'Satellite', and your point is ? Yes there are combined boxes.

Point of post is which box is a good buy for both, I am sick of having to go online to get RTE1 or 2 up on the TV.

Guys I did not mean to insult anybody by asking about this, very hostile it seems from the replys. Honestly just asking what are the top end and low end boxes that I can use my existing Sky Dish for and my Aerial install for. I heard there are boxes that I can have RTE along with all the usual Sky stations Freeview.

Prices range from about €60 to hundreds of euros ...... and generally you get what you pay for.

The only way to get accurate advice is to state your budget.
Then the available solutions within that budget can be compared.

Yes please do refer to FTA Satellite as such and not mix it up with the UK Freeview which is a terrestrial service delivered over the air similar to the Irish Saorview.

The most versatile of the lot is a self build, where you look after the hardware and the software running on that hardware.

Below that are commercial boxes running a Linux OS which are preset but can accommodate you changing the OS to suit your requirements. You would also have some hardware choices/changes you could make.

The further down you go the less control you have ..... or from another perspective, the less you, the user, needs to be involved in the operation of the device.

I could stretch to around 150-200€, ideally if it could come ready to run but it would be nice to have the option to mess around with it or to add stuff like Kodi, IPTV if needed down the line. Running Linux seems to be a good OS so that could be a requirement also.

Regards the Soarview side of things, is it possible to get it without connecting to the outside aerial, it just requires me to reroute a cable.

An outdoor aerial is always preferable for Saorview. If you are in a strong signal area you may get away with an indoor aerial. Another alternative, if your aerial is near the satellite dish, it might be possible to 'piggyback' the signal onto one of your satellite cables using a combiner/splitter at each end.
