Seems they don't want a replacement.

It will be Jack when he comes back

    Jack Kennedy

    Yeah, must be Jack.

Reading between the lines, "there is no one out there we want as a replacement" suggests the guy they want is injured.

Would be funny if Davy Russell got the job back.

    Bring Davy back.

Will Bryan still pick up rides for Gigginstown or will this mean a total split?

Young, talented, won the Gold cup for them, plenty of reasons.

A business plan, no need to pay a retainer. I can't see them retaining anyone in the near future

I can. Kennedy maybe. I'd imagine there's at least a cup of tea with Townend though. No retainer for boys like the Leary's means not as much glory on the big days.

If they do want a retained rider I'd love to see Sean Flanagan get it.

I think Davy summed it up in one sentence.

The job is bigger than one rider.

Davy Russell certainly putting his best foot forward in the last week or two if he's looking to pick up some rides.

Davy having some run of it, confidence counts for a lot in the world of a jump jockey

any word on when Jack K back?

They wont retain any rider and just pick best available for each race. Davy will fairly obviously get a fair amount of the better rides, but my guess is the jockeys will no longer get any choices about what horse to ride.

Davy on the big day is a different league than all their other riders

Gigginstown have six horses out tomorrow and Bryan doesn't even have a single ride. Davy on the other hand has three of the rides.

Seems like Gigginstown are going to just go with the jockey that's available that's currently in form.

Interesting comments in that article, i spoke to a young up and coming jockey recently and he said the same, Cooper will find it hard to get many rides because he's just not liked. Its his attitude apparently so i wonder will O Toole get him more rides

there is very few rides to go around really with stable and owner affiliations

you are left fighting for scraps that are left - tough game as a freelance with no backing - Davy was always popular with such a wide variety of trainers - cant see Cooper getting that support, might have to look to UK

I see no choice for him but to go to the UK to be honest.

Willie and his owners have Ruby and Townend.
McManus has Geraghty, Walsh and a handful of apprentices.
Gigginstown have a clutch of riders to choose from, at this early stage, it looks like he is not favoured
Elliot too will rotate between the likes of Kennedy, Russell, etc.
    Harrington has Robbie Power.
De Bromhead seems to prefer Lynch/Russell.

I don't see where the winners are going to come from.

Looks like Cooper has lost the Potts job as well now.

His confidence was looked shaky before, it must be on the floor now.
