Porsche quits Le Mans and goes Formula E

    Porsche has had more success in Le Mans than any other manufacturer. They've won it the last 3 years in a row

    So for them to make the transition to racing electric cars is highly significant

    There's prestige as well. They could have milked that for another few years? The fans would have come no problem.

    Striking though that all major manufacturers have now left Le Mans. Only Toyota is still there :p

    Mercedes have also decided this week to leave the German DTM series in the end of 2018 and are moving their efforts to Formula E instead.
