Hi All,
I recently politely declined an offer and I received the following email:
"We are disappointed that you have decided not to join our team.
I would like to wish you every success in your career.

If anything changes and you would like to talk to us again, please do not hesitate to contact me."
How should I respond to this email? I want to keep a good relationship with this Employer as you never know what happens in the future.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions/advice!

Really? Shouldn't I at least send a thank you or something?

As said, this is the employer trying to keep on your good side, they're not looking for a back-and-forth.

Cynically, they're aware that an employee who has rejected an offer is multiple times more likely to come back again in a couple of months looking to re-open the offer. Either because they've realised they actually do want to change job or they don't like the other offer they accepted.

I wouldn't reply. You've already turned down the job (and presumably said your thank you'd at that stage). I'd leave it go now. They won't be expecting a reply

You should, that is just being courteous.

something along the lines,
thank you for the interest and if my situation should change I would love the opportunity to join your team.... bla bla bla. and complement him on his team/organisation ...nothing wrong with blowing smoke up his a#s you never know when you might need to work for him.

They don't expect to hear from you again unless anything changes. That's what the email says. Should you reply they might get the impression that you are lacking in basic comprehension
