Laptop Trackpads

Been on the lookout for a laptop to replace my old one. I'm one of those people who uses a laptop track-pad a lot. I was surprised at just how many new laptops have truly abysmal track-pads. I'm looking at windows laptops. But even the expensive ones can often have terrible track-pads. Even the Microsoft Precision ones are often terrible. Must be due to poor drivers. Its noticeable that macbooks track pads, though comically large are actually much better precision than windows track pads.

I find this odd because my old laptops track-pads are much better than the new ones. I find myself considering getting a Macbook and running windows on it.

I think Windows poor scaling and very high res screens like 4k seems to make these problems worse. By a bad track-pad I mean its like trying to stand and walk on ice. Its actually much more physical effort to control the cursor. I use a mouse when I can. But sometime I just have to use the touch pad.

Anyone else as picky about track-pads as me what laptop did you get?

I find them all grand for the basics but whenever I'm using photoshop or video editing / music production I have to plug in a mouse. My productivity nose dives otherwise

Optical track button, best thing going. Love em. Like the little rubber ones on a Thinkpad but better.

    You'll never find them though.
