    Anyone know what the average waiting time at the moment is for getting a new logbook after buying a second hand vehicle privately?

    Let's assume that the seller posts the old logbook immediately.

    Don't you have to tax it first before getting the book?

    All depends on how quickly the seller sends it away. I bought from a dealership recently, had the book in 10 days.
