So who does everyone think will permanently take over Ruth Scott's slot that Stephen Byrne has been looking after for the past few months?

Who will replace Ruth Scott (permanently) on 2FM at the weekend? 13 votes

They will be public when the poll closes.

How about a proper music radio presenter like Will Leahy?

Will Leahy already does a weekend show. It's pretty clear from most of your posts that by "proper music radio presenter" you just mean someone not young.

I voted for Conor Behan, I haven't heard that much of him but I do like him when I hear him. I can't take to Stephen Byrne or Blathnaid Tracy.

And some of the presenters in the options already do shows on 2fm.

Will can be moved from 3 to 6.

No weekdayer is going to work the weekend in RTE.

In Eoghan McDermott's case it would give him more time to work on television projects.

The return of The Saturday Show would be most welcome so I'd vote Will Leahy.

    This too shall pass.

And would you keep Will on The Sunday Show?

Ideally I would choose Laura Whitmore but for a more realistic option I would go with Conor Behan.

Why would Laura, who has a successful career in the UK and has lived there for nearly 10 years, owns a house there, want to fly back to Dublin on a Saturday to do a three hour radio show here?

Nicky Byrne had a successful career in the UK as well.

Nicky Byrne had a successful career in the UK as well.

In a different line of work though, in fairness. 2fm would be a big step backwards for Laura Whitmore.

If she was aiming at a radio career, she'd more than likely go for a UK national station.

One wants ones media career to always be appear to be ascending.

Once you go backwards it's difficult to be seen as anything other than "the one who used to do something bigger"

"(turns on Radio Nova) Hey is that Ruth Scott? The one who used to be on Two FM?"

I think it's not impossible that Stephen Byrne and Eoghan McDermott will swap. Seems a bit unlikely but if Eoghan's drivetime contract expires this Autumn then I can see either Chris and Ciara take over with EMCD moving between Larry and Will, or Stephen and Eoghan swapping slots directly. Plus working weekends on 2FM could give him more time to work on TV projects.

Speaking of Stephen Byrne, he's been in this slot for at least six or seven months now. That's pretty long for an interim presenter.

Not that I want it but I reckon Behan will get it.

What's the point in 2FM broadcasting live from electric picnic?

Playing a pile of live bands that they wouldn't even think of playing at any other time.

Just listened at 430 there. The 2 fellas on talking were so generic 2FM young DJs, that I honestly thought it was one person having a full conversation with himself.

It's a nice way to get into a festival for free and to claim those falafel and ostrich burgers as expenses
