Can a cordless hoover+robot replace a corded one?

The place we live in has laminate flooring all over, and we have some short/medium pile rugs here and there.

We currently have a Dyson Big Ball which is a powerful tool and works fine, but I'm thinking of taking a leap into the future and getting rid of the cables. This would mean replacing it with a robot (i.e. Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum), and a cordless hoover (i.e.Dyson V8 Absolute).

I'm thinking that hoovering frequency (robot) will increase to every second day, so the majority of dirt will be sucked at early stages. Stairs, corners, and areas under furniture will need some manual intervention so I'm wondering.. will a cordless hoover be good enough?

Also, any suggestions for alternative robot/cordless welcome!

A cordless hover is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Never looked back. Unless you live in a mansion you'll be grand

Can I ask which cordless one you have?

    Lets talk 'Vacuum cleaners' ......

    Hoover is a brand.

From my extensive experience in the past, I would say that a corded vacuum cleaner is always more powerful and more durable/heavy duty than a cordless vacuum! This was certainly the case up to about twelve years ago.

but that's just my opinion & maybe things have changed recently?.

Battery technology has come on a long way in recent years, the cleaners at work use cordless vacuums and they appear to be as powerful as the corded versions.
