Would it be possible to make the 'advanced reply' the default reply instead, rather than the 'quick reply'?

Is there any reason it is not that way at the moment?

    Hi osarusan,

The short answer is, this is the way that it's always been. The Quick Reply is essentially the way that VBulletin lets people compose a response without too many bells and whistles. However, if you know the BBCode, you can still insert elements here manually.

Is it some feature of VBulletin that Boards can't change, or doesn't think is worth changing?

At the moment, there are no plans to add the extra functions that the Advanced Reply has. As for why it was done this way, possibly so users aren't flooded with loads of options and can just respond quickly.

The Responsive Site does have some added bells and whistles as part of its quick (and only) reply box though.

Well, I don't really think it's any more complicated - somebody who just wants to type a quick reply would be able to do so just as quickly - they can just ignore the options like people who click on advanced reply will do anyway, apart from the particular feature they want to use.

But, nevertheless, thanks for the reply.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
