I can't find a similar thread to this, so to help me, and maybe help others, I'm hoping somebody would take a stab at putting a rough valuation on my car?

    161 Seat Leon FR
    2.0 TDI 150 BHP
    Black
    40000KM

€20k based on mileage and similar prices for cars on sale on Carzone.

I'm gonna piggy back on this if you dont mind :)
    2004 Audi A3 3 door 1.6 petrol dark grey
    115000 miles/185000km
Timing belt done at approx 85000 miles
In the near 5 years I've owned it, it's been serviced once per year by George Dalton of this parish :P
Usual wear and tear for a car of its age.
    Thanks.

Maybe €1500 if your very very lucky but I'd imagine anything over €1000 and you'll be doing well, its a 13 year old petrol car and not a particularly economical one at that.

A grand seems a bit on the low side given what they seem to be advertised at on donedeal etc, tho 1500 would seem about right.
Probably better to trade it in and get whatever scrappage deal is on offer, bound to be more?
Or keep driving it til it grinds to a halt!

Check what it costs for someone to import a similar car from the UK. Unfortunately that is what you will be competing against when trying to sell it here.

Kind of agree but also disagree. Plenty of people won't want any of the "hassle" of importing by themselves. Dealers who import will inflate the price so they make their profits too. I reckon 20k is reasonable for that car.

Very tough selling anything of that value privately. People spending that sort of money either want peace of mind in a dealer warranty or will make the effort to get a newer or higher spec car in the UK for similar money.

I'll probably be trading it in, so kinda wanted a feel for it before I went in there.

Trade in price will not be the same as selling private though. Trade in price usually ends up being inflated as the discount on the car your buying is applied to the trade-in to make it more attractive.
