Hi, I'm new here and was wondering if dog gps trackers are really needed when getting an active as hell kind of pet.

They can come off. The best thing I'd say would be train your dog well, and only let them off lead in areas where you know you can recall them. A gps tracker won't stop a dog worrying livestock, or being run over on a road.

What kind of pet are you getting?
