I sent a private message to someone but it is not in my "Sent" folder, does this mean it was never sent? How do I read PMs that I have sent?

Hi Jackie Brown,

You'll need to enable the saving of PMs that you send in your User Control Panel. You'll find it under Edit Options - towards the bottom within the Messaging & Notifications box.

You're looking for the checkbox with:
"When sending private messages the forum can make a copy of the message in your Sent Items folder.
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"
