Fiat Grande Punto air re-circulation

    Hello Everyone

I'm trying to sort out an issue with the heating controls/recirculation

This is a non Air Con Model and the heater panel on the centre console looks to have been removed and the clips broken at some stage. The 2 buttons at the top for the heated rear window and the Air Recirculation are pushed in and appear to be missing springs or whatever gives them the resistance to get back into position. Neither of these switches appear to work.

Now I was going to source a replacement panel and put that in the car but currently the Air Recirculation Switch appears to be set to 'on' i.e. the car isn't taking in air from outside the car. Very noticeable in the recent hot weather The 4 speeds on the fan are working but with recirculated air.

Before I replace the Centre Console Panel I wanted to check is it possible to access the air recirculation flaps and force them open as I doubt that a replacement control panel will do this if someone has already been at it.

Basically I'm happy if I can access the flaps and leave them open and have outside air into the car all the time.

Checked to see if the Cabin filter was dirty in case the flap was set open and it was just the case that the airflow was blocked. There was no Cabin Filter in the car at all so we have put a new one in.

    All help/advice gratefully received.

Why not just disconnect the switch?

    Hi Colm

Its currently set to Recirculation and disconnecting the switch won't change that.Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but I need to set it to open the flaps and then disconnect.

    Tks
