Stock photography - large agencies and microstock sites

Looking for some advice on stock agencies and microstock sites. I have a good archive of decent photos - mostly Irish outdoors related subjects including hiking, camping, climbing, cycling - that are just sitting on my hard drive which I would like to put to work.

I think some would be of more interest to larger publications magazine etc. as there doesn't seem to much other imagery out there on similar subjects. Does anyone know which agencies are the most commonly used by Irish newspapers and magazines?

As I understand it the large agencies require exclusivity while the microstock sites don't. Assuming the agencies pay better how does one decide which images to put where?

Also there are some many microstock sites it's hard to know where to start, can anyone recommend any to consider? Is Getty the best agency to go with?
