    Is the u bend clean ? You easily remove the u bend to check then at least youll know it the problem is downstream.

    I had a sink not draining recently, removed u-bend only to find it clean. I eventually discovered a partial blockage outside where the pipe eventually met the drain.

    However water can only flow downwards


    I doubt you need a full macerator, it's just water from a sink you need to pump uphill.

    However if it was working before something must have changed so I'd look for a blockage before spending money.
