Kia Optima Sportswagon

So I'm in the market for a larger car and I've come to the conclusion that the Optima SW would be my choice.

I currently drive a Kia and haven't had any serious issues and everything I've had checked out was done under warranty no questions asked.

I know this car has a long waiting time for new (roughly 12 weeks) but I see a few of the bigger dealers are selling 171 ex demos for a few quid cheaper. Has anyone bought an ex demo car? Are there any pitfalls in buying one?

The 7 year warranty is transferrable so I should have it for the remainder of the warranty.

Apparently only 250 are estimated to be sold this year, how do you think that will effect the value of the car down the line?

Would also love some feedback from anyone that owns one or has experience with them.

171 doesn't necessarily mean ex demo. If there is little or no miles on it then it was probably a pre reg. Ex demos are usually sold after 3 months and they tend to keep the mileage on the low to average side to maximize their resale values. Anything with say 12000 km on it after a few months is most likely an ex hire car. Will be a good few ex hire cars coming back in the next month or two with the tourist season coming to an end.

Thanks for that, yeah one of them has 4,500km on it so probably a rental.

4500 km would be low for an ex-hire car so very possibly an ex-demo, certainly not a pre reg anyhow.
