    Hi guys,

I'm moving into a new house and looking for advice on what size tv I should go for. The couch will be ~14feet away from the screen. From searching on line there seems to be no agreement on screen size:distance from the screen ratio. Any advice and then on top of that recommendations? Budget is around e1,500.

    Cheers

    Hi Meanaspie,

TBH there is really no fixed agreement on this - What-Hifi published this pic in 2011 but honestly have massively moved on since 2011 regarding screen size and in particular with the advent of 4K you can almost sit on top of a 4K ultra HD screen and get amazing PQ - if you are 14ft away from your screen I would have no problem saying you should look at 55" upwards

So on that basis if you have a €1500 budget you will be able to get a pretty amazing TV for your budget - my first thought would be the LG 55UH950 - completely stunning TV with an amazing specification including HDR Dolby Vision:

( and we have it at a pretty amazing Euro price in comparison to our competitors!)

Next up would be the Panasonic TX58DX802 - this is a 2016/7 model just running out ( quickly!) and its been massively reduced and is now down to £999/ €1199 - its a really stylish TV and includes an integrated soundbar - its ideal if you are stand mounting your TV but its not a great option if you want to wall mount as you lose some of the 'style' that you are paying for!

Again Euro pricing is excellent at €1199 but I can shave it a little further for Boardies to just €1179:

If you stretch the budget to - you can get the Panasonic 2016/7 range topping LED the 58DX902 - check out the reviews on the DX902 series - they are pretty much universally all 5 Star reviews - this is almost the max picture quality you can squeeze out of a circa €1500 budget - it does bust the budget at €1649 - but its really amazing:
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-12972-viera-tx58dx902b.aspx

.....However - if you could stretch the budget for the 58DX902 and you looked at a TV with a small gentle curve - the very, very  best TV in terms of Size / Quality / Value we can offer for around €1500 ( €1799 actually :o is the stunning LG OLED 55C6 - check the What Hifi Review out here at £3000 :
    https://www.whathifi.com/lg/oled55c6v/review

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can assist in any way or of course if you would like to order just drop me a PM with your contact details and e will do our very best to assist,

    Thanks guys,

I'll look into that. What if I was looking at something in the 65' range or is my budget not really able to stretch that far?

    Hi Meanaspie,

I have had a look and around the 1500 Euro budget the only 65" TV would be the Hisense 65N6800 at 1399 Euro but I would definitely look at either the 58DX902 or the OLED55C6 as these are far superior TVs to the Hisense.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    Hi guys,

Just looking at your sight I see http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202604-ue65mu6100.aspx is in and around my price range - how does this stock up against the others?

    Hi Meanaspie,

This TV is very good, it's a good 6 series Samsung however, stacked against the likes of the 58DX902 or the 55C6 it would lack the contrast, black levels and motion processing that these TVs excel in. At a larger screen size I would look for a TV with a high refresh rate as you would notice motion blur more on a larger screen. Saying that though the Samsung is still a good large panel, I would just rate the other two higher.

    Kind regards

    David
