2015 Transit starter motor problems

We have a 2015 transit with 70kms on it .Over the last 6 months it has been getting harder to start.A mechanic has told me that it needs a new starter motor .Should this be a warranty item ?I would of thought a starter motor should last more than 70kms.

ford had an extremely short warranty on there vans so I would say its very likely to be out of warranty but consumer rights come into play at that low of millage and year ,basically even though warranty is out if challenged in court it would have to be fixed because it falls under the fit for purpose part no one can argue that its acceptable that a van should fail in that period and not be the suppliers problem. easiest way is probably to lean on ford to sort though

Well it has to have a minimum of 2 years so it can't be out by much even if it is, being 151. The father in law has a 151 one too though and I'm nearly sure it has 4 years warranty.

I thought any of the ones I look after around 15 had a very low millage warranty which was surprising
