Putting it on your house insurance is most likely the cheapest method.

It's by far the cheapest method to put it on your contents insurance.
I was quoted circa €600 per year for standalone ring insurance for my ring but yet it only increased the house insurance by about €120 per year.
Both has the same stipulation that it had to be set, mounted, insurance cert provided, and kept in a safe when it's not on my hand.

€120 seems pretty expensive, it would be covered under specified all risks but I don't think it should add an additional €124, probably around 25% of your average premium, to your overall premium.

Without going into the specifics, it's an expensive ring.

i figured that may be the case, some insurers cover up to 6/7 thousand or so under their specified all risks cover.

I would agree with other poster that putting it on your house insurance if you can is probably the cheapest way to do this
