    Domestic Billing Refund Update:

The Government has announced that water charge refunds will be issued in the Autumn and we are working to ensure that this can be achieved as efficiently and accurately as possible.
Our focus is to ensure a straightforward process for those who have made a payment to us, with minimal delay, once the Government has passed the necessary legislation and provided the funding required.
We will then communicate on what customers need to do to ensure their refund is paid.
We will also engage with customers whose addresses or other details have changed since they made a payment so that they can be refunded quickly and easily.

Why are refunds going to be paid now?

A Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Future Funding of the Domestic Water Supply held hearings earlier this year. One of their recommendations was that charging for domestic water cease and that customers who paid would get a refund.

When am I going to get my refund?

The timing of refunds is still to be determined by Government. Once the Government has passed the necessary legislation and provided the funding required, we will work to ensure that customers are clear on when they will receive a refund.

What do I need to do to get my refund?

Once the necessary government legislation is passed, Irish Water will communicate on what customers need to do to ensure their refund is paid. We want to ensure refunds are given, quickly and easily.

How will I get my refund?

The process of how customers will be refunded is yet to be decided by government, once it is Irish Water will communicate clearly on what customers need to do to ensure their refund is paid.

    What if I have moved?
We will also engage with customers whose addresses or other details have changed since they made a payment so that they can be refunded quickly and easily.

I’m selling a property; how does this affect me?
