It's a 2009 with 140,000 miles . Got it towed to garage but mechanic says engine is seized. New engine costs 5,900 , engine rebuild got quoted 3,500. Car is in great condition otherwise . Both are above what car is probably worth. Has anyone any opinion what to do with car. Is it for scrap of breakers yard. Or is it of value to anyone . Rang around for secondhand engine but can't seem to pick one up.

There was a similar thread on a newer Insignia months ago here and the poster got a second opinion. Apparently the engine wasn't shagged at all and it was repaired for far less in the end. Can't remember the specifics though.
