I bought a boxer pup in Derry from a registered broader from the kennel club. I was just wondering about registering with the ikc.
She has a 5 generation pedigree and I just wondered what is the story with getting that pedigree in the future with the ikc.
    Any help would be appreciated

Is there a specific reason why you want to register it with the ikc?

As far as I am aware only the breeder can register the pups

First to need to transfer the puppy into your name in the uk Kennel Club then you download the form for registering overseas dogs on this page http://www.ikc.ie/registrations/application-and-registration-forms/

It's easy enough to do and they do give you a pedigree

Is the pup already registered with UK KC? If not then, the only person than can register the pup is the breeder. But if you have the paperwork and the pup is in your name then you can register it with the IKC then.

But unless you intend on showing it under IKC rules, there is no need to register with the IKC.

Are you sure you will be allowed to breed from it? Some breeders put endorsements on the pups they breed so they aren't bred from.
Is your pup registered with the kc up north? Did you get the papers?

Yes I'm allowed breed from the pup. The pup is registered with the kc in England. I have the papers and the 5 generation pedigree

If there's no endorsements on the papers and you are the owner on the UK KC papers it's a simple process to dual register her here too
