    Hi,

Besides Bus Eireann, is there any other transportation available from Limerick city to West business parm, Shannon. Bus Eireann are charging 13e for the return ticket which is pricey enough. Looking for other alternative which is cheaper.

In fairness the return trip is 50km, which seems pretty good value for €13.
There is nothing cheaper, unless you can find somebody to Car share with.

The other option is move to Shannon, where accommodation usually works out cheaper.

13e a day for someone working 20 days a month is bit too much.
Only OH working in Shannon so can't move there as I am working in Limerick city.
Will look into car share, any specfic website for that?

There are hundreds and hundreds of people commuting daily between Limerick and Westpark.

I'd suggest planning on getting the bus for the first week or so, then you'll be able to arrange something with a colleague after that.

Good idea. Will see how it goes from Monday.

Have a look at getting a weekly (10 trip) ticket. I think it's around €42.

Also get your OH to check if their company is registered for the Taxsaver scheme. It will be even cheaper if they are.

Based on your recent posts in the Limerick forum you have a car so why not just drive?

    The 10 Journey price is €42 - that's €8.40 a day - hardly that expensive.

Monthly and Annual tickets cost €167.20 and €1,804 and are available through the Taxsaver scheme at www.taxsaver.ie if the employer participates in it.

Thanks for the taxsaver link. Will check with employer. Starting job after 2 weeks.

Online it shows 42e for 10 journeys. But i feel thats not from Limerick city till West park business. Bus Eireann website says no route available when I choose Limerick (henry street) and industrial estate (Opp GE money). Am i doing something wrong?

Choose Limerick (Bus Station) as the origin point.

Apologies - the 10 Journey ticket costs €44 (not €42) or €41.80 if bought online.

The annual and monthly prices are correct.

Just tried this way and you're right.
But would it matter that passenger gets on at henry st bus stop rather than main Bus Station?

As long as the 343 stops there, no it makes no difference at all.

    Genuine responses only please.

Bus is actually pretty good value really, particulary if you can get some tax back. Running a car in and out of Limerick daily is expensive, so bus or car pooling is your way to go.

    Sorry to bump this thread.

But does anyone know which stop Westpark Business Campus is?

Google maps is telling me the 343 bus is a 18 minute walk from the closest stop.

Would of thought there was a stop outside?

    Cheers!

I imagine it would take longer going up the hill though rather than down.
