thinking about fixing mortgage

    Bank offering 2.9 for 1yr, and 3.05% for 5years fixed.
    I think we are about to enter a bit of a cycle of interest rates hikes - maybe a year or so out but still...

    What do folks here think ?

    Ulster Bank are offering 2.60% fixed for 4 years on 300k+ and a LTV of up to 80%. More here.

    People need to consider (1) future direction of rates and (2) future direction of competition, if competition increases rates will decrease.
