Appreciate any experiences of Poznan please?
Tentatively planning the Poznan marathon there in mid Oct. Would bring the family (4 of us , kids 11 & 8) for 3 night stay. We’re well experienced in travelling. Airport seems close and hotels seem reasonable.
Views on the city, restaurants things to do etc.

    Thanks

expect rude sullen people , that's what I experienced in Poland and east Europe in general.

Was there during Euros, found people very nice. We didn't really do much other than the match and pints the night before and of but old town centre was nice.

Poznan is on my list to do, it's supposed to be a really pretty city , as many of them are. Having been to Poland many many times can't say I'd agree people are sullen. They have a peculiar sense of humour - very Irish I thought.

Great country to bring children. Very safe. The kids might get a laugh out of the goats on the clock in the city centre.

Expect really low prices for almost everything, once you veer away from tourist haunts. A few words of Polish will get a great reaction, no matter how dreadful your accent is.

Food and drink were good, and exceptionally good value anyway. I was there during the football last year. The square is a nice place to pass away a few hours eating and drinking.
