I'm planning to redo our front garden. Our house is a 1950s semi-d like countless in Dublin. Any ideas for a nice wsy of incorporating it into the garden design?

Living in dublin and you want to store your bikes in the front garden? Sounds like a recipe for getting them stolen.

It's becoming more popular tbh and I haven't heard any bad things about it. If it's built specifically to store bikes as opposed to just being a shed, then it can be adequately secure. Plus stealing from a front garden takes more balls than a back one.

Doing it "nicely" depends on the size of the garden and one's definition of "nice". Something like this for example, you could have the "door" facing towards the house and the back of it embedded in some bushes, and it would look half decent.

Chap down the street from me has a steel bike shed thing in the front garden. Not that pretty looking, but definitely secure.

I was looking at something like this but bigger http://www.woodies.ie/store-it-out-midi-storage-shed-1134786 but they seemed a bit flimsy in the store.

My plan now is to build one like this:

Solid lock on the door with a ground anchor inside. This will be down the side of the house rather than front garden but I think it'll do the job. Planning to put a couple of small shelves inside the door for tools, and hooks for helmet and jacket.

I'd say something similar could look nice in a garden if done well.

How about something like this? When closed, people might think it's a coal bunker or for bins.

Actually loads of nice Pinterest suggestions here.

I'll definitely be doing something similar for storing the three wheelie bins in the front. I saw a lovely example of a front garden bin shed that I'm going to copy.
