Double glazed windows catching

    Hi all,

Got brand new uPVC windows installed just over a year ago and a few of them are catching when opening/closing. Is there an easy way of adjusting them to stop this?

I called fairco who installed them and they said it'd be €85 to get it fixed as the moving parts are only covered for 12 months. (Was told that the warranty was 10 years, but this is on the frames only apparently)

Any hints or tips on realigning would be appreciated!

Pi$$ poor customer service to be honest. Exactly how long are you over the year...Can you upload any pictures exactly where windows are catching

Yeah I'm pretty annoyed considering we had the whole house done including doors. Honestly, not sure how much over the year but it's still recent enough that you'd expect them to be able to swing by and do a 5 minute job without charge. Especially since they done it for the same problem with the front door a while after they were done.

I'll get some pics when I get home. It's the latches on the locking mechanism are catching on the frame when opening/closing.

If it is the opening ones that are catching it is probably that the glass was not fitted correctly .they should of been toe and heeled with glass packers to put the weight of the glass on the hinges.if this was not done correctly the frames will sag and cause them to not close correctly. I repair a lot of this with munster joinery windows.
