Outlook 2010 Problems Deleting Email Account

    Hi there,

    I have deleted an email account that wasn't needed but it is still showing up when I open Outlook.

    I emptied all the folders manually, any tasks etc but the delete option within Outlook itself is greyed out.

    Any ideas on how to remove this defunct (and deleted) email account?

    usually you go to control panel. switch to small icons, and hit mail. you should see a box with 3 options and the 1st is mail accounts. hit that button and it lists all configured email accounts. you can delete the profile there.

    NOTE - this removes the email account from your outlook. It doesn't delete the email held on the server. just to be clear - the emails are still there.
