the characters on the keyboard do not match when I type it. Eg the @ sign on the keyboard is on the figure 2 but when I type shift+2 I get the " sign. How do I change the keyboard to match what is on the keyboard?

The default settings for the region is United Kingdom.

Not sure if this makes sense as i am a novice ? any help appreciated

Sounds like a non-English keyboard. Was it bought abroad?

If @ and " are reversed its 95% of the time set to EN US rather than EN UK
