Looking for somewhere like Trabolgan but in Wales - any suggestions?

    Hi,
    The thread title says it all... asking for a friend of mine.
    Is there anywhere nice in Wales that's something along the lines of Trabolgan? My friend and her hubby have a 5 year old and they've been to Trabolgan the last 2 years. They're thinking of getting the ferry and trying out Wales. Does anyone know of somewhere that's fun for kids with activities etc and that's also nice for mom and dad too!
    Any suggestions or recommendations welcome, thanks :)

    Only an hours drive from Holyhead port, a short drive to the Snowdonia Mountains, Portmeirion village is only 15mins away and some great scenery thats mindblowing.

    Think the Haven site near Rhyl is Presthaven Sands. Stayed there before and really enjoyed it. Also stayed in Hafen y Mor previsiously which is nearer or maybe in Pwllheli

    Haven, Pontins & Butlins all have sites in North Wales

    Forget Colwyn Bay, only decent thing it has going for it is a beach, nearby Llandudno is great but has a crap beach

    Llandudno is nice for a day out. Old pier & cable tram up to the head are really nice. The mines up there are well worth a look too

    Haven Kiln Park is lovely, nice large park and walking distance to Tenby town.

    It has a big Morrisons for stocking up on drink on the way to the ferry :)

    Interesting thread. I was looking at trabolgan but my Mrs said no, she wants somewhere less knack!

    Bluestone in Pembrokeshire. But can be expensive in during kids hilidays

    When do ferry prices and schedules for summer 2018 come out? Is it best to book accommodation or ferry first?

    Haven't been since I went a couple of times with family as a kid but we always loved Kiln Park in Tenby.

    Great location if you're getting the ferry into Pembroke (20mins drive) and the park is a very short walk to town. Can also get the boat out to Caldey Island which has a monastery where the monks produce their own chocolate!
