2008 BMW 520d hesitating at low revs

    Hi

Three times now on successive days my 520 has hesitated with the revs around 1,750. Today, I kept it at that speed for a few seconds and the hesitancy continued. It's like a misfire and only seems to happen when cold.
I have it in to my mechanic (a BMW Indy) for diagnosis but wondering if anyone has any ideas?
I'm thinking MAF sensor or EGR trouble. Car gets regular long runs even though it's low mileage and I've never had dpf issues. I've also read about a known issue with these cars that's solved with a software update. My car was serviced by a main dealer for the first five years and the same dealer did the chain two years ago so I'd imagine the software has been updated.

    TIA

I had similar symptoms in a car with the same engine, that did nothing but motorways miles and it was the EGR.

    Exactly my thoughts...

Well the EGR, MAF and all mechanical bits were checked. Full software update as there was a concern it might have got corrupted.
    No errors were showing up.
I've got the car back and it seems to be running sweetly.
