Kids Gum Shields

My 5 and a half near 6 year old is chomping at the bit to go gaa training. Im going to send him the odd Saturday over the summer to the training sessions for his age group.

As I understand it, kids of all ages have to wear gum Shields now. I bought an o Neill's one in Junior, one size fits all. Dip in hot water and mould type.

The thing is that it is just too big for his mouth! I guess this size covers up to age 11 or 12 and my lad is a way off that yet.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a suitable and economical product for the smaller mouth!

    Thanks.

it's a very common complaint. I simply cut a small bit off each end and then my young fella (7) was able to use it without gagging.
Also it will take some getting used to, tricky things gum shields, especially for kids.

I got a great one for the young lad in Supervalu 2 weeks ago after he lost yet another one. This one I got doesn't have to be moulded in hot water and just fits in. It's very soft and he reckons that it's the most comfortable one he's ever had. He's 9 though so it might be a bit big for your buck.

Jayop, will gum shields in Tyrone not interfere with the tradition of friendly chaps with the opposition :-)

I only ever liked to talk about the weather or how many pints I had the night before. My best bet for an easy game was for the buck I was marking to feel sorry for me.
