Runflat sidewall damage?

So I noticed a bulge in the sidewall of my front left tyre just now. Tyre is a Bridgestone re050 runflat with 90% tread :( Size 245/40/19
I'd say culprit was one of the many potholes in the small streets around O Connell street area in Dublin.

I regularly check my tyre pressures and the tyre is exactly what is always is at 36psi.

With runflats having reinforced sidewalls does this still need replacing? I've had sidewall bulges in regular tyres before and replaced straight away.

UPDATE: so I drove the car a bit and I can hear air leaking out of the sidewall now. That's cleared that up!
It didn't leak straight away but I think once a bit of heat built up it gave up

    Replace.

If a runflat has devoped a bulge, it must have suffered a serious hit.

You could always keep it as an emergency spare, just put it on a steel wheel, but don't depend too much on it.

BMW ? I went through 3 Bridgestone 20" Runflats last year at €400 per tyre, all front left, all fairly new and all went the same way .. bulge and eventually split on side wall, drove me mad  I got a newer model this year with slightly softer suspension and now problems so far after 5 months or so.

    Sounds like an f10 520d.

Yeah it's a f10 BMW. An expensive week so...

I actually have a second set of alloys for the car so will move tyres around.

The other question I had was I've 275/35/19 on the rears. One is worn down anyway so needs replacing. Is it ok to have 245/40/19 on the rear left and 275/35/19 on the rear right? Overall diameter difference is negligible (2-3 mm)
Was thinking there may be an issue with traction if one is slightly narrower but probably wouldn't be noticeable?

It'll probably show up on the iDrive as a flat.
Quite possible that you'll have some traction control issues as well.

    It's not something I'd do.

If you're badly stuck, and I mean really badly stuck, get a second hand tyre, until you decide to run 245 all round.

    Sound advice

Yeah I'm hoping to transition to 245 all around but 3 out of 4 ( now 2 out of 4 tyres) were expensive runflats so couldn't really ditch them.

Out of curiosity how come iDrive will through up an error?

It detects the different rotation speeds, and interprets it as a flat.

I've the same size tyres, that's a standard staggered setup on the M Sports. The rear rims are wider than the front, how did you manage to fit a tyre from the front onto the rear?

BTW if buying tyres then have a look on here:

    https://www.oponeo.ie/
    https://www.tyreleader.ie/

Online is generally much cheaper in those sizes.

I haven't moved the front 245 width tyre to the rear but it should definitely still fit the wider rear alloy. Maybe a bit stretched but will fit
