Irrational Fear of the Bush!

And No...it's not the bush south of the belly button, nor previous US presidents!

Started a new job yesterday and today the resident 'Mother Hen' introduced me to her pride and joy.....a Butterfly Bush!
I despise butterflies, especially the brown ones and this bush is outside my window.

I don't want to make a muppet of myself especially in a new job, but I will gallop if I see a butterfly in the vicinity. I have been known to jump out of my car (safely) and wait for one of the horrible creatures to fly out.

This fear stems from my earliest memory as a small child. I was playing under a cast iron bed when I felt a flutter on my cheek (face).

So how can I get away from this bush?
Has anyone else this strange butterfly fear? Or any other strange fear?

Used to be you could attract the painted ladies with four cans of diamond white and 10 Silk Cut Ulatra

Nowadays you have to go all Percy Thrower on them.

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

Is it in your contract OP?

Personally, I have a no butterfly's clause in mine, you can never bumble bee too careful.

I suggest you start looking for a new job OP.

Life's too short for this madness.

Someone should show this photo to the sculptor of the Ronaldo and Sonia O'Sullivan statues and tell them that that is what a proper sculpture looks like.

Explain you have lepidopterophobia and ask to be moved to a new desk.
Alternatively, seek treatment for your phobia.

A complimenting statue of the shoe throwing Iraqi guy would really top this off.

Bet this isn't the first time that Bill has heard "Hey YOU!, lurking behind the bushes"

Thankfully, I have no issue with moths, unless they are very large.
Red Admiral is what I mean, not brown at all!!

The last time I explained it people seemed to find it hilarious and went out of their way to actually 'find' butterflies....
I must look into treatment, hypnotherapy or something.
