Conversion of IWS teaching qualification for America?

    Hi guys,

I'm contemplating a move to America later this year. I was wondering what the story is regarding lifeguard/swim teaching certificates and their eligibility in the USA. I have been a practicing lifeguard for 3 years now and a level 2 IWS swim teacher for 3 years too.

Is there any conversion method for these certs or do I have to start from scratch in America?

The qualifications are internationally recognised. Saying that you may need to do in-house training in US, depending on the pool you would be working in. The same would apply for American lifeguards coming to Ireland. Check it out with Irish Water safety themselves, they will advise better
