    Hi,

After years out of college, I have finally got my first teaching job! (2nd Class Maternity). I will be doing my probation (dip) during this time. I'm just wondering if anyone has ideas on prep I could do during the summer? I have no idea of the class standard, class size etc. But want to be as prepared as possible! All thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Try another message board called education posts and post in their forum.

If it's 2nd class primary in a most national schools that'd involve a fair bit of 1st communion prep so maybe talk to some people whose kids did communion recently or even if necessary, familiarise yourself with the mass. A friend of mine in primary teaching didn't know that all the responses had changed and was badly caught out!!
Best of luck with it - you never forget your first proper class!
