To repair scratches to one panel on a car/ panel beating and respray i guess.
    Is 120 ok?

Depends on the damage, but normally they need to match the colour to the adjacent panels.

I was quoted 500 for my work, that was beating, respray and colour match.

    120 is suspiciously cheap.

Could be for an Alfa GTV Cup wing.

If it's a bonnet or the likes...

It's the strip along the bottom of the car under the door

Ah yeah that's fair enough for that as it's not really gonna have to 100% match.

    Ok thanks.
I'm in Spain and it's a rental. I am getting it repaired locally so I dont have to pay the rental company.

Is that with or without the permission of the rental company?

It's only a plastic skirt so 120 isn't really suspiciously cheap and the job would have to be dreadful for it to be noticed in such an inconspicuous area.

How much is the excess on your insurance?

Proper repair on plastic is more expensive than metal and a whole lot easier to make a mess of.

That's not an inconspicuous area on a car never mind a rental which will be inspected on return.

Ah be reasonable, that's a handy repair. Even if the finish is as rough as a bag of nails, drive the car through a bit of dust and dirt before handover and it will definitely go unnoticed.

No it's not, well not in this case anyway. That part is easy to remove and a repair will involve filling and sanding which is the just like metal but unlike metal it's not welded in place so a repair is easier.

Also that is an inconspicuous area. You might'nt think it but it is. I've touched up minor scratches on sills a few times using rattle cans and that was even nearly unnoticeable. A bodyshop will easily have that looking like new.

I've just looked through the video I took on arrival. The rental guy rushed me past that side quite quickly, but my kid has taken a few screen shots and it looks like scrape is already there. I'll try to upload

Only problem is now that we signed off saying no scratches larger than the agent's weird protractor tool thingy on the rental form, and we haven't notified it to the co.
Planning to fight it at the airport... is this thick?

Screenshots of video. Under child's elbow in corner of the pic.
    Thoughts?

Ugh. Sorry. Hard to get this right on phone and slow wifi.

With zoom photo 4 and 5 think i can see the scratch, but will they?

Always Always Always take your time to check the car inside and out. Almost every time I rent a car, I spot something not marked on their little diagram form and have to go back to get them to mark and sign it.

That mark would have been very hard to miss by just glancing over the car. It's huge.

    I know :-(
He was chatting away so I was cursorily looking at the doors.
I don't recall scraping it but that's not to say we didn't do it.
Screenshots have just put doubt in my mind

Forget the video, you've signed away your recourse.

Check insurance, did you take out super cover?

If not just repair it and move on
