Well, I was pushing the window in to close it last night and the handle came off in my hand! Does this look like it's completely broken or could it be screwed back in? Didn't want to chance anything last night as I won't be able to close it if I push it out. House is about 8 or 9 years old.

It's ok. I went up and had a proper look. Need to get a new lock entirely.

Looks like you just need a handle. The lock itself is inside the sash, the handle is screwed onto it. You've still got a bit of the handle attached to the frame.

Oh I see. The silver broken part on the frame was part of the handle so. That seems fairly stuck on the frame though.

2 philips screws off and new handle on - easypeasy. I've a few new ones in the shed if you're near blanchardstown, you're welcome to one.

Sorry typical woman here. Should I completely screw the fitting off the window first to try to remove the part of the handle that is stuck on it?

Remove the 2 screws and that part will come away. 10-15€ for a new one. Woodies would be your handiest bet. Bring along the one you removed and keep those 2 screws:)
