I am going to to to repeat this year as an external student. I want to take up geography but I know there is a project with it. Can I do the exam without doing the project? How much marks am I losing?

If i work hard enough, I could still pass the paper.

Yes of course, but if you go back and see your old teacher at school, they may agree to supervise you doing a project. No reason to make things hard on yourself.
