Getting from Nice to Cannes. Advice, please

    I'm flying to Nice mid-August.

My evening flight arrives after the last bus (20:00) to Cannes.

Taxis to Cannes seems expensive - €70+.

    Any advice on alternatives?

    Thanks.

    D.

Looking at the bus info there are two buses after 20.00 with another bus.

    Thanks.

I should have said that August 15th, the day I arrive, is a bank holiday in France.

So, I think that may be a problem.

No doubt I won't be the only one caught out, if there are no buses.

Maybe I can share a taxi.

Get a taxi/bus to nearezt train station, its not too far, then get a train, you can look up train times on line.

Train is a good option. There seems to be regular trains after 8pm. It costs 5.90€. You may need a taxi to go to the train station. Check the fares on the national train company: sncf.com

If you speak french you could also check car sharing. The most famous website is blablacar.com. However you need to check if there are trips from Nice to Cannes beginning of August when people starts uploading their upcoming trips.

The Nice-St Augustin train station is about a 10-15 minute walk from the airport and you can catch the TER train from here to Cannes. Probably best combination of cheap/convenient out of all your options.

Still some time to go before I travel to Nice/Cannes.

Has anyone used Uber (or an equivalent) in Nice or anywhere else in France?

I have never used Uber (or similar) anywhere, including Ireland. The only time I ever take a taxi is going to the airport! :)

    Thanks.

My Airbnb host recommended Uber when I was there so I assume it is popular. I didn't use it though

An option you could use is looking getting a bus from the airport to a neighbouring town called Cagnes-sur-Mer and take the train from there to Cannes.

Uber is €100 from nice to Cannes, taxi won't be 70€. Train is definitely best option. I've done both twice
