Have I damaged the tractor?

purchased tractor, an international 1046 and has set up for 5 months, was going ok but a noise has come in the gearbox i think , when the let up the clutch it starts but on pressing clutch down it stops, checked the old level and was not much in it by the looks of it

can you describe the noise. Does it happen when the tractor is not in gear? might be your clutch release bearing?
