    Hi,
I currently work as a deputy manager and there is no "salary"
Your hourly rate will go up €6.50 extra per hour when you are solely in charge.
For example doing an opening when no other senior manager is there or holding safe keys doing the close.
Otherwise your wages remains the same for the most part.
It's alot more responsibility for very little reward.
You will be lucky if you get more than 30 deputy hours per month.

So I 'll be getting 11.50 per hour when not in charge?

    Training is pretty okay.
You will be doing a 3day first aid course and after that your store manager will be doing other aspects of the job over the course of a few months.
You will work hard but try and figure how good your team is around you and where their strengths lay.
You at some point will be directing them on your own.
I'm sure you will be okay and if you have been put forward it means your manager thinks you are capable.
Some people are there 4-5 years and never get the opportunity.
Just trust yourself and soak up everything they reach you..

I worked for aldi a few years ago and they wanted me to go onto deputy . nearly all the deputy's at that time were trying to go back down .
They started making lots of people deputy's , making them do deputy duties but not paying for the service , as they nearly always have either a assistant manager or store manager on duty .

I don't mean to put them down, I got on great working there but the higher you go up , the more hassle .

Good advice.... If you feel you have enough to make a transition to assistant manager go for deputy and work your ass off cause that's OK money . if you don't think you have enough to make assistant manager then stay where you are or move on.

When I got offered deputy I was already leaving and decline offer , they told me if things didn't work out in my new position to come back and there would be a job for me, a really nice bunch of people fair play .

Edit .... One thing I will add , if you do deputy for couple of years it will look good on CV ,
