Hello. I'm wondering if anyone has a VAGCOM system to check for error codes or can recommend someone who know what they're doing with this model engine.

It's spluttering a tiny bit when idling, shudder a tiny bit when pulling hard between 2k - 3k revs and sometimes kicks when backing off the accelerator and giving throttle again when still in the turbo rev range. Full service last week didn't improve it. It was similar last year but a new N249 valve fixed it... I'm reading old posts about possible N75 or N80 vales, maybe injectors etc etc... No engine warning lights but am driving to England for 2 weeks in August and hoping to have it running smooth before the trip...

    Any suggestions?

I would start by pulling any codes (might be some but not causing light) - as you suggested, and looking at live data like the fuel trims, maf, load etc.

pm me if you want - have kit to do that

Thanks a mil Dave. Very interesting to see you at work and thanks again for coming out to take a look.

Dave was able to diagnose up a slight misfire in cylinder 1. I'm keen to replace the coil pack/s. Does anyone have any insight to this... should I just keep them stock or has anyone replaced them with R8 red ones? I want to keep Audi parts, but is there any benefit to upgraded ones?
